Steve Robinson (PASTOR/ELDER)
Steven Robinson’s greatest joy is knowing and serving the Lord Jesus Christ. By God’s grace, his love for Christ has continued to deepen through the years, and he counts it a privilege to walk with Him, serve His church, and proclaim His Word. Originally from New Orleans, Steven came to faith in Christ at the age of twelve and has been actively involved in ministry since his youth. Entering pastoral ministry in 2003, he has served in various roles, and since 2012 he has ministered at Grace Reformed Bible Church through preaching, teaching, leading worship, and shepherding God’s people.
Steven and his wife, Sandra, have been joyfully married for nearly thirty years and are the grateful parents of two adult children. Alongside pastoral ministry, he has served the community as a barber for nearly forty years, viewing his work as an opportunity for gospel conversations. His desire is that Christ would be magnified in all things and have the preeminence in every area of life.
Aaron Ruis (PASTOR/ELDER)
Aaron Ruis, a native of San Diego, was regenerated by the grace of God after years of false religion. He met his wife, Rollalyn, while attending Pensacola Christian College, and they were married in 2002. In 2006, as they awaited their first child, the Lord opened Aaron’s eyes to his sin and need for Christ, awakening a strong call to ministry. He went on to serve as a houseparent at the Florida Baptist Children’s Home and later managed a youth shelter, The Curry House. During this time, he pursued studies in mathematics while also helping manage a family business.
In 2016, Aaron and his family returned to San Diego and began attending Grace Reformed Bible Church. In 2019, he expressed a call to pastoral ministry, and after an 18-month internship, he was ordained and installed as an elder in 2023. Aaron continues to manage a residential home and lives in San Diego with Rollalyn and their five daughters. His ministry focuses on cultural engagement, public preaching, and leading worship, with a particular love for Psalm singing.
Joshua Gonzalez (PASTOR/ELDER)
Joshua Gonzalez was born and raised in South San Diego. Growing up in the church, he was taught the fear of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ and does not recall a time when he did not love the Lord or desire to know Him. This upbringing was not without trial, however, and at the age of 17 the Lord worked powerfully in Joshua’s life. He was baptized and later became a student at a ministry school. During this time, he served on a missions team in India, where he lived for nearly a year and became convinced of Reformed theology, returning with a clear call to pastoral ministry in 2017.
Joshua married his wife, Leslie, and joined Grace Reformed Bible Church in 2019. In 2022, he was called to ministry by the elders and congregation and served a pastoral internship for eighteen months before being ordained in June 2023. Joshua’s ministry focuses on preaching, leading the Spanish community group, and shepherding the youth. He and Leslie have five children: Caleb, Ezra, Josiah, Alianna, and Aleah.
